Los Angeles Clippers Forward Danilo Gallinari has been named Most Valuable Player in the 2018 NBA Africa Game which took place in Pretoria, South Africa on Saturday.

The Italy international took home the top prize after lighting up the exhibition game which featured NBA players from various continents.

Gallinari registered 23 points for Team World in a 96-92 win over Team Africa by connecting nine of ten attempts in the game.

2015 NBA Champion Harrison Barnes of Dallas Mavericks added a 14 point, 11 rebounds double double production in the win.

Team Africa Captain Joel Embiid led by example by producing 24 points while former Philadelphia Sixers teammate Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot added 16 points.

This is the third straight win for Team World in the game’s three editions; proceeds will fund Nelson Mandela Foundation’s projects.

Gallinari follows in the footsteps of former winners Victor Oladipo and 2015 co winners Chris Paul and Luol Deng. Gallinari is a product of the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Program which held its Africa version earlier in the week.
