Portland Trailblazers Forward Al-Farouq Aminu is set to make his long anticipated return to Nigeria’s Male Senior National Basketball Team-D’Tigers.
The veteran player is in line to feature for 2015 African Champions Nigeria later this year after last suiting up for the side in the triumphant side three years ago.
The West African nation will compete in the upcoming qualifiers for a place in the 2019 FIBA World Cup to be held in China.
“[Yes], most likely, that’s my plan. If everything goes as I foresee, I will be there. It’s an opportunity I can’t really pass on” he said to FIBA.com following his participation in this year’s NBA Africa Game which took place on Saturday in Pretoria, South Africa. Team World beat Team Africa 96-92.
Nigeria will host the first round of games from September 14 to September 16 in Lagos against regional rivals Senegal and Ivory Coast and Central African Republic.
Nigeria is aiming to be one of five African teams to make it to China next year.
