The 2018 NBA Africa Game is upon us and some of the best players in the world’s best basketball league will be in action on the African continent.
This year’s game tips off on Saturday August 4 in Pretoria, South Africa with proceeds to fund projects from the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Two editions have been held in Johannesburg, South Africa and Team World has emerged winners on both occasions against Team Africa.
Team Africa-made up of NBA players of African descent- is looking to bounce back from a 97-108 loss in the 2017 game and clinch its first win.
With a less stellar international cast this time around, Team Africa’s chances of clinching the win has increased; Demar DeRozan withdrew from the roster recently due to personal reasons.
Africa Captain Joel Embiid has made his intentions clear regarding the game and teammates including New Orleans Pelicans Forward Chieck Diallo are primed to score the long awaited win tomorrow.
A sizable NBA contingent has been in South Africa over the past week engaging in several activities headlined by the basketball Without Borders program.
