The GSP Basketball League Management and Board have expressed its disappointment following the postponement of Ghana’s National Sports Festival exclusively to Basketballghana.com

This year’s edition of the multi sport competition was due to commence on August 12 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast.

However, the event has since been moved to a yet to be named date to allow Ghana prepare for next year’s All Africa Games.

According to GSP Public Relations Officer Daniel Addo, the move is terribly disappointing for athletes who had started preparations. The GSP Basketball League contributed a high number of players to Brong Ahafo’s Regional side.

“Management is disappointed in the decision from the Sports Council postponing the National Games. With no funds from the B/A Sports Council, GSP managed to organize justifiers in over districts in the Brong-Ahafo Regional basketball justifiers to select the regional basketball team” he said.

The 2017-2018 GSP League season ended earlier this year with Suncity Braves reclaiming its league title after piping then defending champions University of Energy and Natural Resources to the crown.
