Taking advantage of an inactive Adenta Leopards, Ghana Police Service has regained the second spot in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I.
Police lost the spot to Leopards prior to the last round of league games played at Prisons Court in Cantonments ahead of Ghana’s National Unity Games.
This year’s Unity Games comes off on August 12 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast and a host of players from the league will be competing.
Police clinched a 71-61 win over Tudu Magic in the first of two matchups last weekend to move ahead of Adenta Leopards.
Tema Youth played the final game and recorded a 79-71 win over Navy Warriors in another close encounter at the venue.
Thanks to the win, Police has 21 points for the season which is a point ahead of Leopards; league competition returns on August 23.
Tema is fourth and is tied on points with Adenta but holds an inferior goal difference compared to the latter. Below is a full breakdown of the standings:
