Africa will not be represented in the knockout phase of the ongoing FIBA Under 17 World Cup in Minsk, Belarus after failing to progress beyond the preliminary stage.
Angola and Mali missed out on progression following consecutive losses in Group D and Group B respectively in the first round.
Mali lost 63-74 and 57-78 to Ital and France in respective order while losing to USA and China in the remaining games.
However, the West African nation has clinched its first win following a 63-48 win over Argentina in a classification game played earlier today.
Fellow African side Angola is yet to clinch a win as the side fell 41-97 to China in the first classification game played today.
The quarter finals will commence shortly with the opening game between Italy and Australia set to tip off at 13:30 GMT.
France and Latvia will play at 15:00 GMT, USA and Spain will play at 15:45 GMT and Japan and Hungary will play out the final game at this stage at 17:30 GMT.
