Ghana Fire Service’s Male side lost to Tudu Magic and prevented what would have been a special moment for the unit in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL).
Fire lost 64-72 to Magic in the Men’s Division I competition while its female side walked away from the Prisons Court in Cantonments with a big win.
The side beat defending league champions Braves of Customs 46-32 in the female division matchup on Thursday July 19 at the aforementioned venue.
Had Magic lost, Fire would have recorded a double win in the first of three days of competition in the league with little over a fortnight left till the commencement of Ghana’s National Unity Games.
Fire’s Ladies delivered a big win to underline its improvement since the second round commenced last month and the team looks good for a second place division rank.
Ghana Police Service leads the standings with 16 points from an unblemished record; Braves have 13 points while Fire has 11 points with a game to spare.
