The Gold medal winning Brong Ahafo Regional side in the recently organized Republic Day Wheelchair Basketball competition have paid courtesy calls on prominent officials in the wake of their recent success.
Basketballghana.com can confirm the Eagle Shooters visited Regional Minister Kwaku Asoma Kyeremeh following its 26-18 win over Greater Accra Region to take first place.
The winning group met with Angel Group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kwaku Oteng in Ghana’s Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi later on.
Both leaders assured Eagle Shooters and Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball Federation of their commitment to the sports development.
BA won the one day competition held during the West African nation’s Republic Day Celebration earlier this month in Ho.
Brong-Ahafo’s latest win comes at a crucial time as the team prepares for next month’s National Unity Games set to commence on August 12.
Ashanti Region placed second with Greater Accra and Northern Regions rounding out the standings in respective fashion.
BA is the defending Unity Games champions and put its title on the line in Cape-Coast in a few weeks.
