Brimah and Derrick White with G League title

San Antonio Spurs run in this year’s NBA Summer League has come to an end following a bad 55-90 loss to Phoenix Suns in Las Vegas.

The team will turn attention to preseason prior to the start of the 2018-2019 NBA season, with a lot of focus on who makes the roster.

The team is in midst of Kawhi Leonard’s dilemma but in the frontcourt, matters are murky behind starting Center Pau Gasol.

Following the decision of Joffrey Lauvergne to sign for Fenerbache, Spurs need his replacement in its second unit which can be solved by promoting Ghana Center Amida Brimah from its Gatorade League affiliate side Austin Spurs.

The 6 foot 11 defender thrived in his first season at Austin helping the team win the league while earning a spot on the All Defense Team and leading all players in blocks.

Seasoned NBA players like Greg Monroe and Jahlil Okafor are reported to be on Spurs radar but neither Center thrives on defense like Brimah.

Compared to Monroe, Brimah brings more athleticism, length, speed and youth to the veteran laden San Antonio team.
