Philippines and Australia’s Male National Basketball Teams are in line to be handed major punishment following an on court brawl over the past weekend that caused a stir in the sport.
The Asian rivals were engaged in a 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifying game in Bulacan, Philippines before a huge fight broke out in the middle of the third quarter.
Australia player Daniel Kickert elbowed Philippine Guard Roger Pogoy in the face and the aggressive act led to the huge physical altercation which has dominated world headlines.
The list of punishments could include lengthy bans fro players who participated in the brawl including Milwaukee Bucks Forward/Center Thon Maker and Kickert.
The Philippines is likely not to host any international basketball competition as the safety of players and staff cannot be guaranteed.
