Eight weeks into the 2018 Tema Basketball League, Nungua Coldstore is yet to be beaten after making six appearances this season.
The team is the only outfit in the division yet to be beaten and extended that feat this past weekend with a hard fought 61-45 win over Tema Heat.
The clash was pegged as the biggest fixture of the round and both teams played to expectations in an entertaining matchup.
However, Nungua were made to sweat in the early quarters before responding in typical championship winning side style to close out the game on a strong note.
Nungua held 20-15 and 25-23 leads in the first and second quarter respectively as Heat threatened to erase its deficit with Philip Barley and Fred Yeboah leading the way.
However, Coldstore went on a 10-2 run early in the third quarter with lanky Center Kofi Agyei draining two three point shots to stretch his side’s lead to 48-34 heading to the final quarter.
Emmanuel Wolff’s deep three pointer ended a six nothing run for Heat as Coldstore wrapped up its sixth win.
