Tema Youth Assistant Coach Henry Sowah has stated playing to the team’s strength has been key to Tema’s remarkable run in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I.
Despite playing the last couple of games shorthanded, Youth have been able to dig up three straight wins in the division.
Youth had just five players available in 64-60 wins and 66-64 wins over Navy Warriors and Reformers of Prisons respectively and six players in a 56-55 win over Tudu Magic on Friday May 25.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com in an exclusive interview, Coach Sowah opined avoiding fouls and shooting efficiently from three point range made up for the team’s short handedness.
“We play on our advantageous side…we make sure we control our fouls we try to control our fouls from first quarter. So during this time we make sure our three pointers and big guys do their possible best to get the points…making sure they make the best out of it” he said.
Tema Youth takes on defending league champions Braves of Customs on Friday June 1 next.
