Tudu Galaxy did not make a good start in its tie against Ghana Police in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division and paid for it.
The team lost its fourth game in five appearances this season after losing 36-42 to Police who are yet to be beaten this season.
Galaxy fell 22 points behind in the first half after falling 6-28 at the end of the second quarter in the game played at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.
However, Galaxy fought back valiantly starting with a 12-9 third quarter win to trail 18-37 heading to the final quarter.
The Tudu based team reduced the deficit further but could not tie the score to force overtime or grab the game’s win.
This keeps Police’s winning run intact after winning four in as many games this season; the team is the new occupant of the division’s top spot.
Only fierce rival Braves of Customs hold an unbeaten run but the defending league champions won’t be in action till Week 7 when it returns from an international competition in Kenya on Saturday May 26.
