Ghana Police has clinched a 42-36 win over Tudu Galaxy in the Accra Women’s Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.
The win was clinched earlier tonight in the sole game played in the division at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.
Beating Galaxy ensures Police winning run in the 2018 season extends to four games which is the best mark in the campaign.
It also ensures Police moves to the summit of the six team standings with eight points while Galaxy remains in fifth place with six points.
Police had a dominant start to the game and run away with a 28-6 lead at half time as Galaxy struggled to get going on offense.
However, the second half turned out to be a good one for Galaxy as sparkplug Selina Quaye scored in the early minutes of the third quarter with a jump shot just inside the three point arc.
Galaxy secured a 12-9 third quarter lead but the opening half’s 22 point deficit proved too big for the side to tie and force overtime.
The loss is Galaxy’s fourth in five games.
