Cameroon Center Joel Embiid and Nigerian American Victor Oladipo have been named to the All NBA Defensive Second and First Teams respectively.
The duo get the nod after splendid campaigns in the 2017-2018 season where Embiid starred for Philadelphia Sixers and Oladipo led Indiana Pacers charge to the playoffs.
Combo Guard Oladipo was named in the first team after leading the league in steals-2.36-per game and is a contender for the Most Improved Player Award.
Embiid made the second team after opposing players scored 7.8 percentage points less with the Cameroonian as their primary defender.
Oladipo shares the first team with Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert, Embiid’s teammate Robert Covington and Jrue Holiday.
Joel Embiid shares the second team with Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, Dejounte Murray and Al Horford of Boston Celtics.
Embiid is a contender for the Defensive Player of the Year alongside Davis and Gobert; should they emerge winners, he and Oladipo will be presented with awards on June 25 at the NBA Awards.
