Dunks Club has recorded its maiden win of the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division after four tries.
The young team clinched a 41-38 win over Reformers of Prisons in the sole divisional game played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The surprising result gets Dunks its first win of the season after falling in three straight games including Ghana Police.
The return of key players like Mamaata Yussif helped Dunks inflict a third loss on Prisons in its fifth game of the season.
After battling hard against the unbeaten Police in the past round, Reformers were heavily tipped to win the matchup.
In the Men’s Division I, home side Tudu Magic beat Ghana Fire Service 66-53; Magic’s win halts a two game losing run.
However, Fire’s poor season continues as the side fell to its fifth loss in as many games this season. The team lost 66-69 to Reformers of Prisons in the last round and sits in the last spot in the standings.
