C4 (yellow) v Lions

Two time Tema Basketball League finalist Ashaiman Lions has lost its first game of the 2018 season following a controversy filled game against Tema Community 4.

The pick of Week 7 games did not end in the best way as it did in the 2017 league final Community 4 walked away as winners.

Lions abandoned the game midway despite trailing by just three points (22-25) in the highly competitive game played earlier tonight.

Ashaiman trailed Community 11-13 after the first quarter and 17-21 after the first half but decided not to see the game out in the middle of the third quarter.

The team got hit with two technical fouls amidst vehement protest from Lions. An ejection call on Forward Dennis Dugbennu caused a long delay that ended when Ashaiman walked off the court forfeiting the contest.

This is Lions first loss of the season; the team had won all five games prior to tonight’s contest leaving Nungua Coldstore as the only unbeaten side in the league.
