After starring for Champagne Chalons-Reims, Ghana Forward Ben Bentil will not compete in the French Pro A Basketball League.
This is down to Bentil’s exit earlier this year from France to sign with Spanish league side RetaBet Bilbao for the remainder of this season.
Bentil averaged 11.8 points per game for Reims and was the team’s second top scorer behind Iceland international Martin Hermannsson.
Reims missed the cut for the postseason after placing 14th in the 18 team standings with a record of 15 wins and 19 losses.
Reims was Bentil’s first stop in France after playing for Dallas Mavericks in the NBA, Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Gatorade League and Xinjian Guanghui Flying Tigers in China.
The French playoff games commence on Friday May 18 with the top eight teams in the just ended regular season participating.
Monaco, Strasbourg, Le Mans and Limoges are the top four teams who have been paired against Pau-Lacq-Orthez, Nanterre, ASVEL and Dijon respectively.
Monaco clinched the top seed with 25 wins and nine losses.
