Navy Warriors lost its fourth game of the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I after falling 60-64 to Tema Youth in a game played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu on Friday May 11.
After grabbing its first win of the season via a 56-52 win over Ghana Fire Service in the preceding matchup, Warriors fell to a Tema side that had lost to Adenta Leopards previously.
However, the most stunning aspect of Warriors loss was the fact that Tema played the entire game with just five men.
Cedric Nambi, Kent Fosu, Jonathan Walker, Josiah Karikari and Brian Kwami were the only members of the Youth side present for the fixture.
Tema trailed 47-58 with 6:34 left in the final quarter but a brilliant 12-2 run from Youth got the side trailing by a point (59-60) with 2:34 left on the clock. Kwami got Tema in front (62-60) by scoring one of two free throws before Fosu added a pair of shots from the charity stripe to clinch the important win.
