Week Four games in the 2018 Tema Basketball League season have ended with close results in a couple of ties and last season’s champions blowing away its opponent.
2017 League champions Tema Community 4 obliterated rival Tema Rockets 50-20 in the all Tema showdown which lived up to expectation in feistiness and emotions but had one team score at will to clinch the win.
Community 4 led through the entire game stretching a 13-5 lead to a 12 point (24-12) lead at the end of the first half. Rockets Guard Delvin Mensah ended a long drought by converting a three point shot but that was far from enough to get his side close to C4.
In the final game of the round, Ashaiman Lions brought Tema Heat’s unbeaten run crashing down by clinching a 52-42 win.
Lions conversions beyond the three point line were key in the 10 point win which extends the team’s winning run to three this season.
Teshie Rangers put Francophone Stars through the mill but fell short in overtime losing 42-44 only a week after clinching its maiden win of the season.
Nungua Coldstore beat debutant Teshie Vikings in the opening game 51-40.
