The standout game in Tema Basketball Leagues’ latest round of fixtures between Ashaiman Lions and Tema Heat has ended with Lions taking a 52-42 win.
Ashaiman extends its winning run in the campaign to three while ending Heat’s winning streak in its fourth game of the season.
Following a frantic opening quarter where both teams traded shots and Heat won 14-10; expert marksmanship from Lions in the remaining quarters was the game changer.
After missing Week 3’s 39-28 win over Tema Rockets, Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw returned to the side and delivered from deep.
His five conversions from the three point zone including the final basket of the game gave his side 10 points and sucked the momentum out of Heat at different points when the latter threatened to erase the ten point half time deficit.
Heat went cold for long stretches but stayed in the contest largely thanks to driving runs from Guard Andrews Ayienab and Captain Fred Yeboah .
Lions got support from the returning Dennis Dugbennu, Abdul Bashiru, Carl Kuzagbe and Philip Amralo.
