Iconic Accra Technical University (ATU) Male Basketball Team duo Suleman Abubakar and Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan will not be returning to the team next year Basketballghana.com gathers.

The Co-Captains are set to graduate from the technical institute later this year after an extensive victory filled run for the Tudu based institute.

Abubakar was named Most Valuable Player at the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards and Alhassan received the same award a year before.

With Alhassan serving as a dynamic Shooting Guard with skills to play as a Point Guard and Small Forward and Abubakar marshalling the paint, ATU built a winning side.

The team won two straight GHAPSA (Ghana Polytechnics Sports Association) Games titles in 2015 and 2017 and West African Polytechnics Association Games title also in 2015.

With the likes of Romeo Enan on the roster, Accra Technical won the 2015 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

However, the duo’s final run in the UPAC Championship ended in disappointment as ATU fell 36-41 to University of Ghana (UG) in the final. ATU lost to UG in the 2016 UPAC final.
