Teshie Rangers recorded first win in the 2018 Tema Basketball League in the past week following a 37-31 win over Tema Community 2.
The win was a welcome relief to the side that had lost to Tema Heat and Teshie Vikings in the opening rounds of the league campaign.
The team will be inaction later this weekend at Tema’s Community Court against league debutant Francophone Stars in the second of four games lined up.
The tie is a tough matchup as Francophone impressed in its loss to 2016 league champions Nungua Coldstore in overtime in Week 2.
Francophone beat Teshie Vikings before falling to Coldstore and bar a series of surprise misses from Forward Cedric Nambi, Francophone would have walked away with its second win.
A second win is important to either side’s chances of progressing to the playoffs; the regular season is scheduled to end on September 16.
Vikings and Coldstore open Week 4 games on Sunday April 29 at 15:30 GMT before Community 4 plays Tema Rockets and Ashaiman Lions play Team Heat.
