Sweet shooting Ghana Power Forward Ben Bentil’s time in Spain is not going according to plan following his high profile move to RETABET Bilbao.
The 6 foot 8 inch player moved early in the year from French side Champagne Chalons-Reims to Bilbao with a lot of expectations for the Ghanaian to lift the lowly ranked side up the standings to avoid relegation.
However, after a promising start, the former Dallas Mavericks player is struggling to get it going especially on offense.
Bilbao 72-82 lost over the weekend to Andorra; the loss to seventh ranked Andorra is Bilbao’s 21st loss this season and keeps the side in 16th place.
On an individual level, Bentil didn’t get any joy scoring just four points after spending nine minutes on the court in the loss.
More worryingly, Bentil attempted just three shots in the game scoring a three pointer and making one of two free throws.
The first Ghana born player to play in the NBA has consistently had very touches in recent times.
