University of Education-Winneba (UEW) has clinched the best scoring mark thus far in the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarterfinals.
UEW clinched the best mark by scoring 82 points in a Group B game against All Nations University College in the second game for either side.
The Winneba based side freely scored against the Zone 1 Champions after struggling to create a lot of openings against Accra Technical University (ATU).
UEW turned on the style in the second half after leading the first half 36-21 with a host of three point shot conversions.
In a highlight moment, lead Point Guard Jeffrey Djimate scooped the ball up for a beautiful alley oop after All Nations turned the ball over.
More importantly, the win gives UEW a big chance to progress beyond the quarterfinals; this is UEW’s first time competing in the UPAC quarterfinals since 2011.
UEW takes on Sunyani Technical University in the final game on Day Two with the winner progressing to the semifinals. Both teams have a win and loss in two games.
