After playing a pair of games on Day One of the 2018 UPAC Basketball Championship quarterfinals, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has one more fixture to complete the quarters.
KNUST’s final game is a headline grabbing matchup against host and two time UPAC Champions University of Ghana (UG).
The matchup tips off later today at UG to round up competition in Group A; KNUST needs to win the game to stand a chance of progressing to the semifinals.
The Kumasi side lost 35-36 to Takoradi Technical University (TTU) before recovering to score a 47-32 win over Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).
UG on the other hand have all but qualified to the semifinals following two wins in as many games on Day One earlier today.
UG beat GTUC 49-29 and topped TTU 64-37; the teams have a long history in the competition UG winning the 2016 semifinal game.
GTUC takes on TTU with the former seeking for its first win in the knockout stage.
