Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) have been eliminated from the UPAC Basketball Championship.

The 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) competition is taking place at the University of Ghana (UG) and ends on Saturday April 14.

KNUST exit the tournament after winning one of three games in Group A; KNUST beat Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) 47-32.

However, the Kumasi based side lost 35-36 to Takoradi Technical University in the first game and had a big chance to clinch a crucial win over UG in regulation time.

With the game tied, Gustav Addo had the chance to give his side the win needed to progress to the semifinals but he missed both and KNUST fell in overtime.

GTUC lost all three games in Group A losing to 29-49 to UG and 31-51 to Takoradi Technical University after falling to KNUST.

This was GTUC’s maiden appearance in the quarterfinals after topping Zone 7 at the preliminary stage by beating much fancied Marshalls University College.
