Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah will not be present for Austin Spurs Championship Celebration Night.
The event is to recognize the team’s achievement as the 2017-2018 NBA Gatorade League; the team clinched this season’s title after beating Raptors 905 in two straight games in the finals series.
Shooting Guard Nick Johnson was named Finals Most Valuable Player following his game leading scoring exploits in Game Tow.
However, the big celebrations will be staged without the presence of the 6 foot 11 inch shot blocking defender Brimah.
Reports coming from Brimah’s camp indicate Amida is in Serbia and has signed for Partizan Belgrade Basketball Club.
However, it is believed his time with Eastern Europeans giant is likely to be a short one since the former University of Connecticut Captain is set to make a quick return to the United States.
Brimah and fellow Center Matt Costello combined effectively on defense to stuff out Raptors 905 with both Spurs players dominating on blocked shots.
Amida has attracted a number of European clubs since graduating from Connecticut last year.
