A host of teams competing in the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship are set to arrive in Ghana’s Accra, today ahead of this year’s national games.
The games take place from Thursday April 12 to Saturday April 14 at the University of Ghana (UG) with teams representing eight tertiary institutions set to fight for the 2018 crown.
Sunyani Technical University (STU) has arrived in the West African nation’s capital per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com
The likes of Takoradi Technical Institute are expected later in the day, likewise Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and All Nations University College.
University of Education-Winneba (UEW) are likely to arrive before games tip off tomorrow; the Group B competitors are featuring in the knockout phase of the competition for the first time since 2011.
Host and defending champions UG are in Group A with Takoradi Technical, KNUST and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).
Group B has Accra Technical University (ATU), UEW, All Nations and Sunyani Technical; ATU, UG and GTUC are based in Accra.
This year’s competition is the fifth edition of the UPAC Championship.
