SunyanI Technical University (STU) Male Basketball Team will move to Ghana’s capital, Accra later this week to compete in the UPAC Basketball Championship national stage.
STU will compete in this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) after qualifying from the preliminary stage.
The games will be played at the University of Ghana (UG) from Thursday April 12 to Saturday April 14; STU is in Group B alongside two time winners Accra Technical University.
Ahead of the trip, STU got a big boost in preparations by clinching a 61-37 win over LIR Royals in the Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League.
The win is critical since it comes following a loss in the previous round and gets the side in the right frame to face Suncity Braves later today in the 12th Week.
Braves have retaken top spot in the league following a 40-35 win over defending champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
The tie against Braves is the Sunyani Technical’s final game before embarking on this year’s UPAC knockout campaign. The team is featuring at the knockout stage for the first time since 2011.
