Four games have been lined up to open the 2018 Tema Basketball League season at Tema’s Community 4 Court later today.
This season’s campaign has ten teams competing and is expected to run from today to September 16 before the postseason commences.
Home side Community 4 are defending champions and are set to play Akatsi Rifles mere days after the two teams played in a friendly game.
Community 4’s target for the season is to become the first side to successfully defend the league title, 2016 holders Nungua Coldstore did not make last season’s final.
Newcomers Teshie Vikings tips off the first game of the season with a tie against fellow newbie Francophone Stars at 15:30 GMT.
Francophone got a taste of the league when the side competed in the preseason competition dubbed the Campaign Tournament.
2017 Finalist Ashaiman Lions is up against Tema Community 2 in the third game of the round; Lions won the Campaign Tournament.
Tema Heat play against Teshie Rangers rounding up today’s games.
