For the second time in as many years, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) will be up against the defending UPAC Basketball Champions in the quarterfinals.
KNUST has been drawn in Group A of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) quarterfinals alongside 2017 winner University of Ghana (UG).
Ghana Technology University College and Takoradi Technical University round up the group which has two semifinal spots available.
After falling to UG in last year’s competition, KNUST can reverse the loss to the same side at the same stage later this month.
This year’s UPAC national games take place from April 12-14 at UG; KNUST lost 23-38 to UG who played the 2017 edition as 2016 champions.
KNUST lost all three games at this stage including a 41-43 loss to University of Cape-Coast and are hell bent on overturning the poor showing.
The Kumasi-based institution placed second in 2015 and third the following year; KNUST topped Zone 5 in this year’s preliminary stage.
