The 2018 Tema Basketball League commences Sunday April 8 with four games lined up to be played at Tema Community 4’s Court.
Ten teams are competing in this season’s league which is expected to run from this weekend to September 16 before the postseason tips offs later a few days later.
The opening round has teams that featured in the 2017 season finals series-Ashaiman Lions and Tema Community 4- competing.
C4 beat Lions in two straight games to clinch the three game series for its maiden league title; the team is up against Akatsi Rifles in the final game on the night.
Lions will be involved in the third game of the day against Tema Community 2; losing to C4 in last year’s finals was the second title miss for Lions after playing in the 2016 final against Nungua Coldstore.
Lions fared better in preseason winning the Campaign Tournament and placing second in the Battle Grounds Tournament.
C4 on the other hand did not compete in the Campaign Tournament and placed third at Battle Grounds.
