The “Easter Games” in the 2017-2018 Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League have been postponed following an announcement by league management.
The postponement comes as a result of the upcoming Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) with basketball a main event headliner.
League side Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints are competing in the 2018 PUSAG which will be played out at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Another reason for the postponement is this year’s National Sports Festival which is set to take place in August and Brong-Ahafo Region is expected to compete.
The break is to enable players from the league move to camp to begin preparation for the annual event which was recently revived after a period of absence.
This season’s “Easter Games” featured fixtures in Week 11 and Week 12 which were originally planned to be played out on March 31 and April 2 at the Eusbett Court during the Easter Holidays
University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) leads the league after 10 weeks.
