GTUC beat Marshalls to top Zone 7.
2016 and 2017 Champions UG.
Zone 5 winners Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
The draw for this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship national competition has been made.

The event was conducted live on basketball television show “Courtside” which airs on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

Two time winners Accra Technical University (ATU) has been drawn in Group B which has teams yet to play in the semifinals of the competition.

ATU has been drawn alongside Sunyani Technical University (STU), University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and All Nations University College.

STU and All Nations have not progressed beyond the quarterfinal stage while UEW played in the 2011 Final but lost to ATU.

In Group A, defending champion University of Ghana (UG) will battle with Kwame Nkrumah of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and Takoradi Technical University (TTU).

This is GTUC’s first ever foray into the elite stage after qualifying from the preliminary stage with a shock win over last year’s silver medal winner Marshalls University College.

KNUST lost to UG in the semifinal of the 2016 edition which the latter institution won.

This year’s UPAC National games will be played from April 12-14 at UG.
