Radford clinched a four point win over Pentecost University (green).

Radford has clinched its first win in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The team is playing in the tournament for the first time and opened its account with a hard fought win over Pentecost University College.

Radford beat Pentecost 20-14 in the second game in Zone 8 of this year’s competition which is the final zone in the preliminary stage.

University of Ghana (UG) easily run over Central University in the opening game courtesy a 52-21 win; UG are the defending champions.

Despite playing in the competition for the first time, Radford settled well in the game and run off to an 11-4 win in the first half.

Godwin Tetteh played a big role in the seven point first half lead drilling a three point shot and completing a three point play.

Pentecost played better in the second half but was unable to complete the comeback to fall in its opening game.

The second round has Radford taking on Central University while UG play Pentecost University.
