Pentecost University College (PUC) has ended this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
Unfortunately the team rounded up competition in Zone 8 without recording a win in three games to exit at the preliminary stage.
Pentecost lost 14-20 to Radford University College in the first game; Radford is competing in the UPAC tournament for the first time.
The Sowutuom-based team lost its second and third games against University of Ghana (UG) and Central University in the following games.
PUC lost 16-41 to two time Champions UG and 23-32 to Central University respectively despite the best efforts from Pentecost to clinch at least a win before exiting.
Losing out in this year’s edition means Pentecost has not qualified from the preliminary stage since it started playing in UPAC in 2015.
However, Central University can view this is as a positive step in its preparations for the PUSAG early next month.
Beating Pentecost ensured the team clinched two wins in three games in the zone; Central piped Radford University 32-31.
