University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has reclaimed top spot in the ongoing 2017-2018 Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League.
The team leads the league standings with 19 points, one ahead of bitter rival Suncity Braves and this season’s most improved side Desert Rabbits.
UENR went into the past weekend round of games second behind Braves but recording a 36-24 win over LIR Royals and a 68-23 win over Barracks Scorpions has the side back at the league summit.
Climbing back to the top was aided by Barracks Scorpions shock 39-36 win over 2015-2016 winners Braves in Week 9.
Despite recording a win and a loss in back to back fixtures, former league leaders LIR Royals remain fourth with 16 points.
Scorpions improved their point tally for the season to 14 after beating Braves while Sunyani Technical University remains sixth with 12 points.
The bottom spots are occupied by Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG Saints) and West Siders; Saints are yet to win this season but rank higher than West Siders due to the latter suffering from point deductions as punishment.
