The 2018 Tema Basketball League season commencement date has been moved from April 1 to April 8 Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The league was scheduled to commence later this Sunday at the Tema Community 4 Court but had to be postponed as a result of management’s decision.
League managers have reportedly set aside time to drawn teams into two conferences with a special ballot; the process will involve team representatives.
In the aftermath of the balloting process, fixtures will be determined for the upcoming season which will be the third season of the league.
The Tema League started in 2016 with seven teams and had Nungua Coldstore clinch the title courtesy a win over Ashaiman Lions in the finals series.
Tema Community 4 triumphed over Lions last year to clinch the 2017 title but finished third in the Battle Grounds preseason Tournament held last month.
Coldstore won the competition while Lions won the first preseason tourney in December last year-Campaign Tournament.
Kwame Boamah Djan of Coldstore and Aninagyei Osei of Community 4 were named Most Valuable Players in 2016 and 2017.
