The preliminary stage of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is in the final stretch.
The first phase of the competition ends on March 29 in Zone 8 but ahead of the said date, competition in Zone 6 and 7 will take place.
Zone 6 games will be played at the Accra Technical University (ATU) with the host team competing against Wisconsin International University College, Valley View University and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
On Thursday March 22, Valley View will be attempting to top the zone and secure qualification to the National competition next month.
Should the team be successful, it will mark the first time since 2016 Valley View played in the knockout phase of the UPAC Championship.
The team shocked many by making the quarters in its maiden appearance in 2016 and battled hard against the likes of ATU before crashing out.
After surprisingly get piped in last year’s zonal championship by novice All Nations University College, Valley View needs a big performance in tomorrow’s games to erase last year’s poor performance.
