Former Los Angeles Lakers Center Didier Mbenga has praised Lakers legendary Shooting Guard Kobe Bryant and tagging the Black Mamba as an inspirational figure.
He made this revelation in a deep on Kwese Free Sports Ghana basketball program “Courtside” during his visit to the West African nation.
In a wide ranging interview which had the two time NBA Champion throw more light on his experiences playing in the league, Mbenga was candid about his thoughts on his former Coach Phil Jackson.
After playing and winning with Bryant on the Lakers, Mbenga stated, “Kobe (Bryant) inspired me so much” before highlighting the five time Champion’s epic mental approach to games.
“The same way he worked hard, the same way he played” Mbenga added in the 40 minute interview on the television program.
Bryant retired at the end of last season and has since had his jersey numbers during his 20 year run with the team retired.
He is sure to be inducted to the NBA Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible in a few years.
