Former Los Angeles Lakers Center Didier Mbenga has stated Phil Jackson is on e of the best coaches in the world.
He made the statement in a wide ranging interview on basketball television show “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports during his visit to the West African nation.
After touching on a host of issues, Mbenga zeroed in on his former Coach Jackson and heaped praise on him 11 time NBA winning trainer.
“Phil (Jackson) is one of the best coaches in the world …If you have a problem with Phil, then you have a problem” he said.
Mbenga won two NBA titles under Jackson at the Lakers and Jackson has since moved into management becoming New York Knicks President of Basketball Operations.
He served in the role for four seasons before getting fired prior to this season. During his time in New York, the Knicks failed to make the playoffs but drafted Kristaps Porzingis and Frank Ntilikina who are regarded as foundational pieces for the franchise.
