Kintampo College of Health has existed the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The team will not progress to the latter rounds of this year’s competition after failing to clinch a win in its first maiden appearance in UPAC.
Kintampo lost 26-28 to Catholic University College, Ghana in its final game in Zone 4 despite dominating the first half.
Kintampo raced out to a 14-2 lead over Catholic University and ended the first half leading 18-9 but the team lost its way in the second half.
Catholic University battled hard and capitalized on costly Kintampo mistakes to trail 24-26 with little over two minutes remaining before going ahead with a corner three point shot.
Catholic University rounded up the win from the charity stripe to clinch its first win after losing to University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and host team Sunyani Technical University.
UENR and Sunyani will battle for the zone’s top spot in the final game and a spot in the national championship.
