Tema Basketball League Coordinator Sandy Asiedu has expressed his expectations for the upcoming league season in an interview with Basketballghana.com

The 2018 season is set to commence on Sunday April 1 at Tema’s Community 4 Court with the home side as defending champions.

Since its maiden season in 2016, the league has gained grounds in Ghana’s expanding club scene joining the likes of Global Sporting Platform (GSP) League.

With an exhilarating round of preseason competitions out of the way, the league is ready to begin and Asiedu has a lot of expectations:

“I’m hoping to witness much improved set plays, big players posting up, more accurate shooting percentages, massive rebounding, solid defense…However, we will make sure officiating officials all the power and authority they need to crack the whip on coaching staff and players who make derogatory remarks” he said.

Tema Community beat Ashaiman Lions to win last year’s league title after Nungua Coldstore won in 2016. Coldstore and Lions split the preseason competition titles.
