Former Global sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League leaders LIR Royals are on a big slide and it for the first time this season.
The slide has seen the side slip from first to fourth in the standings in recent weeks; following the conclusion of Week 8 games, the team dropped from three to four.
This comes after Royals lost 30-42 to mark the second loss in back to back games against Desert Rabbits at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani.
Those losses have opened the way for 2015-2016 winners Suncity Braves to scale back to the top with two straight wins over Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints.
Braves 68-13 win in Week 8 topped its 68-14 win a day before. Defending league champions University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) ranks second.
Like Braves, UENR picked up two wins over the weekend beating Sunyani Technical University. Both games were close with the second ending 34-32 for UENR.
