Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Male Basketball Team Coach Owusu Ansah Ankrah has assured team followers his side will ready when the 2018 UPAC quarterfinals roll out in April in Accra.
Takoradi Technical has qualified to the next round of this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The team topped Zone 2 beating University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) twice including a 69-29 victory; GIMPA-Takoradi and GTUC-Takoradi pulled out of the zonal competition late.
With little resistance from the overwhelmed UMAT side, TTU strolled to easy wins to return to the UPAC knockout stage after missing out last year.
Quizzed about his team’s readiness ahead of the quarters next month by Basketballghana.com, Ankrah stated:
“To tell you the truth, I do not think so…but before we get to Accra definitely we would have played some trial matches so I believe they will get tested and we know very that we will get there”.
TTU is one of three teams to book a spot in Accra; five spots remain.
