C4 lost 25-45 to Lions in the semifinals

2017 Tema Basketball League Champions Tema Community 4 has placed third in the final preseason competition -Battle Grounds Tournament.

The team picked up the bronze medal after piping Teshie Rangers 32-31 in overtime in a closely fought encounter at Community 4’s Court.

C4 trailed for most parts of the game and headed to the half time break with a three point deficit (17-20) Rangers Shooting Guard Gabriel Numarworse hitting shots from deep.

With less than three minutes remaining, Rangers held a 28-24 lead with Guard Nii Ayi scoring from the free throw line; Rangers missed its chance at the charity stripe to send the game to overtime with the score tied at 29.

The same theme played out in the extra period as C4 clinched the slim win after Rangers Center Emmanuel Ocquaye missed from the free throw line which was the game’s final act.

Community 4 did not compete in the first preseason competition-Campaign Tournament- and played the game without Point Guard Aninagyei Osei and Forward Eric Deku.

Ashaiman Lions won the Campaign Tournament but missed out on the Battle Grounds trophy falling 33-46 to Nungua Coldstore.
