Desert Rabbits have shocked LIR Royals in the Globalo Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League latest round at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani.
Rabbits beat Royals 33-19 in Week 7’s high profile game; the shock loss means LIR is no longer the league’s top team.
That honor goes to 2015-2016 Champions Suncity Braves who usurped Royals after clinching a 68-14 win over Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints.
Braves ranked third in the standings tied on 11 points with LIR and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) but the big win takes them to the summit.
Defending Champions UENR recorded a close 18-16 win over Sunyani Technical University in a low scoring all tertiary institution matchup.
West Siders forfeited its match against Barracks Scorpions in the opening tie of the round; this is the second straight time West Siders have failed to show up for a league fixture.
The same fixtures are set to be played later today in Week 8 in the first back to back games of the 2017-2018 season.
