2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Zone 3 Host University of Education-Winneba (UEW) is yet to lose a game heading to the final round.
The institution’s Male Basketball Team has won twice in as many games in the preliminary stage of this year’s competition.
UEW beat Cape-Coast Technical University 55-37 in the opening game and extended its winning streak after clinching a 46-33 win over KAAF university College.
The host team will play its final game against Regent University College of Science and Technology; Regent replaced University of Cape-Coast (UCC) after the latter pulled out at the last turn.
Regent recorded 35-25 win over KAAF in its first game of the competition; prior to its late admission, Regent had not played in the UPAC Championship.
UEW missed out on a spot in the quarterfinals of last year’s Championship falling to UCC who topped the zone.
Unless the team suffers a shock loss to Regent, UEW will end zonal competition unbeaten with a quarterfinal spot secured.
