UPSA v Zenith University (yellow)

Marshalls University has won the ROX Energy Independence Day Charity Basketball Jam at the University Of Professional Studies (UPSA).

The team clinched the title a few hours ago at the Legon-based tertiary institution’s court following a 22-21 win over Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).

The highly entertaining matchup was tied on several occasions through all four quarters as both teams battled for first place.

However, tensions boiled over in the final minutes leading to several stoppages and Marshalls took advantage to pip GTUC to the top spot.

Several technical fouls were dished out by officials to players during this period to maintain calm and Marshalls saw out the victory.

The team was presented with products from headline sponsor ROX Energy Drink for its achievement as the best in the one day competition.

GTUC and host UPSA rounded up places on the podium; Zenith University College abandoned its semifinal tie against Marshalls paving the way for UPSA to clinch bronze.

Prior to the final, Marshalls had recorded big wins over the likes of Data Link, Wisconsin and Regent University Colleges respectively.
